1999 ford escort, with engine running and foot on brakes, will not shift out of park. Disconnected cable from trans. & could manually shift trans, but cable still would not move from park. I know it's electrical, like solenoid etc.

It may be a stuck cable try with help seeing if the cable moves. It should not have any free play. Check the fluid if bad or smells off replace. Try starting in low if it starts to move try a fluid and filter change(note you may need to clean and flush the system.) -
