No, since people can contribute greatly when they are on in years. If you're asking if there should be an age MINIMUM, I will say wholeheartedly yes. This helps prevent some banal questions and topics.

There is an age limit -- check out terms of use (link below)... first item is age restriction -- you have to be at least 14 years old. I don't know if there should be an age limit -- seems a little arbitrary -- but I think this has something to do with creepy old people befriending young people without their parents knowledge.

No, there should be a requirement that they have to be able to coherently ask a question.

There is, and no one under the limit pays any attention to it. In fact, it probably makes it more likely they'll sign up, as it is forbidden fruit and there is no way we can really check their ID.

Though it's true that the youngsters can be a bit annoying here sometimes, I also think it's good to have a wide range of perspectives. I've seen young folks learn from others here (and vice-versa). They may not have much going on in terms of maturity or manners (or the fundamentals of standard written English), but they either learn or move on. The regulars around here set a certain atmosphere and standard that results in a user-base that self-selects for those who appreciate decent adult conversation. If kids want to take part it that, they're welcome. Those too immature to join in will walk away without necessitating regulation on AB's part. And trolls will be trolls despite regulations.
