If today is any indication...not much apparently! I offered to work at my favorite little bookstore here in town free of charge today! Not because I'm rich and can do that (far from really), not because I'm a fabulous person (ok well maybe I am a little...lol), because it's on the verge of closing due to a family member falling ill. I would rather work for free when I can't afford it then watch the dreams of a wonderful woman fade because she needs to care for her father!

Depends. I would ask for some salary and only if I'm in need of money and also good health. No point in running after pay checks when I can't even be happy.

A decent salary and being treated reasonably well. As someone who has owned several businesses, as well as worked for others, I can tell you that working for yourself is not all roses.
