  • That's an interesting question. I really don't think this is, or needs to be, connected to morals. I think this is a subject that should be left up to the party involved. In my personal case, for example, the two time my ex-wife got pregnant I told her and the doctor that I did not want to know the gender of the baby--I wanted the old-fashion surprise and they did complied with my request.
  • If by determine you mean choose, well, for right now the question is trumped by the question, "Is it morally right to disgard a living embryo or foetus just because it's not the sex you want it to be?" - as those are the only ways of determining the sex of a child at present. If by determine you mean find out, then the answer is there's at least nothing intrinsically morally wrong with it.

  • So long as the baby is healthy, I see no problem with determining the gender of a baby.
