The largest cities have "arch' that is "first' dioceses ( a division of the Church,an old Roman Empire word) dioceses are in small cities. A "Monsignor" is an honorary title given to certain priests by the Pope through his bishop's nomination, but is the Italian, Spanish, French word and title for bishops! The bishop,an Anglo-saxon word, is from the biblical "epi-scopus (Greek) overseer (from which we get episcopal)and is chief pastor over a "diocese" ( which normally includes a larger city and several counties in the US) which include sereral parishes, which have "pastors" or parish priests.
