I once read a book by a guy who rode along w/ police in the US & UK, and he said that a UK cop arresting someone is a lot more likely to be jumped by the guy's friends than a US cop is. Do you think this is true, and/or are you surprised by it?

    Not really, because, if you recall, until recently, the London Bobbies were UNARMED.

    I believe that... and it does not suprise me one bit. From what I have seen, American police are scary. British police are not.

    American police are more aggressive, more physical, they carry more guns. British police are more like peace makers in comparison.
