1) This is not "new technology" stuff. That your files are on a flash drive means nothing. You could be storing them on a 5.25" floppy and have the same problem. 2) Never seen the error explanation you mention. I've been around since Windows 3.1 (which may or may not mean anything). 3) You copy files from one computer. It is NECESSARY that the program that created the files is installed on the second computer.

I only have one computer. should I try and delete the stuff on the flash drive and try it again?

Are you trying to open the files in the same computer or a different one?

well I deleted all the documents and tried doing it again and the same thing happens, do you think i will not be able to store these docs, or should I try to open them on a different computer?

Try opening your USB Drive in different computers because sometimes computer goes wrong and we doubt in USB Drives.If still it doesn't work then it might be the USB Drive.
