  • Many people drive safely until they are in their 80s. There is no right age for everyone.
  • Obviously the answer is different for each person. State of health, various mental and physical conditions, reaction time, blindness and deafness all factor into the decision to stop driving. My father is 84 and still driving. He never drives at night, avoids busy main streets, never drives on the freeway and never takes anyone else with him when he drives. He's made those adjustments in order to keep driving a while longer.
  • It's different for everyone; but I think the DMV should require a real road test periodically after a certain age.
