I think so. The issue is, people associate Communism with Socialism and the USSR. The early church was a communistic society. They sold all they had and put everything into one pot. They lived and provided for each other as a group. That's communism. The issue is that people, by nature, are power-hungry and selfish. Sooner or later, the administration of the "equality" becomes too tempting. People end up favoring one or another, and bribery begins. I just don't think it's really possible for such a system to last.

The best definitions I could find were from Dictionary.com: 1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state. I don't think Jesus would ascribe to this definition. He said give to Ceasar what is Ceasar's and give to God what is God's. When the young rich man asked how toi get to heaven, Jesus said give up everything and follow me. Jesus, as far as we know never owned anything, he relied on the kindness of others for food and shelter. 2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party. I am pretty sure is not what Jesus was. Jesus was more a "Let God provide" kind of person. Not relying on a state or others.

I would say he was as anrchist, but not in the popular sense (rioting, looting, chaotic violence), but in the sense of a complete rejection of supremacy over another human. Please preview this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_anarchism because this is not a fringe perception, but one prevalent among intellectuals from multiple discourses. thank you.

One thing that is certain is that he was not a Capitalist.

No, he was a Jew.

Jesus was more than likely a socialist. If what the Bible says is true, he healed and fed everyone for free and treated everyone as his equals.
-
No , he was the first Christian Communists oppose all religions and are atheists. Jesus believed in Charity , but did not believe in looting the wealth of others. (as the communists do) Give unto Caesar what is Caesars'. Jesus focused his teachings on Loving your fellow man.
-
There were no communists, or capitalists, or socialists, or fascists, or anything like that in that time period. All of these designations are derived from relatively-modern European Political Science. The question, then, should be: "Did Jesus hold personal/societal beliefs which could be easily reconciled with modern communism", or something like that. And of course, you'll probably get 1000 different answers to that question...and that's just from Christians! Imagine how many difference opinions you'll get from Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Atheists, and of course, historians and theologians.

Socialist. He wanted everyone to share with one another so there would be no hunger, or greed, or hatred. He wanted us to care for each other as He cares for us. Share what we have and place the needs of everyone over our own.
