I don't think so but it is a bit cruel none the less

There's a good chance of it, espeially if they're small or fancy. Are you asking this because of a trip you're planning? I'd reommend gettting an automatic feeder, or having someone you trust ome in and feed them at least once. At the very least, you could put some plants in the tank. I used to have goldfish, and they would devour any plant I put in within a week, despite my feeding them.

Goldfish really can go at any time. Thats why they are only 25 cents or whatever. It really depends. I would recommend feeding them for best results.

You sadistic sob. They might resort to cannibalism.

I was away for a weekend but i had no one to leave my fish to, so i feed my fish just before i left, and they were ok when i came back, yours should be ok as long as you feed them just before you leave, but it's better not to test them, maybe get a trusted next door naighbour or friend to come in and check on them one or twice.

Goldfish always appear to be hungry and it is sometimes beneficial to feed goldfish less rather than more. Godlfish can survice on very little food for upto a week. Goldfish are pretty messy and produce lots of feaces which increases with overfeeding which thus increases the ammonia level in the tank whihc is toxic to the fish. Therefore , good tank hygiene with regular gravel cleans and partial water replacements (20%) is recommended. Overfeeding can also cause constipation that could lead to swim bladder problems. A good veggies diet is recommended for goldfish as high portien foods lead to constipation.

No, they will be fine.

Gold fish can go up to 3 weeks without food; however, you should turn off any heater, at the same time. Cooling the tank slowly to 50 - 60F will force the fish into a semi-hibernatng mode. They will be "tricked" into thinking it is winter and thus will nestle down at the bottom of the tank and "sleep" for several days with no desire to eat at all. . This can be done when you go on vacation, but shouldn't be done for more than a week. If you are going to be gone more than 5 or 6 days, than you should get an automatic timer/feeder to feed your fish for you.
