I have two right now and have had them for years. The IBM is probably 9 years old and the Canon close to that. One is a Canon 1500 and the other is an IBM Infoprint 12 laser. The only complaint would be the price of the toner cartridge if I bought them, but I don't. I just drilled a hole in it and put toner in it myself -- no problem.
Yes, the Canon I received five years ago "free" (no additional charge) with my current laptop. The reason it has given me no grief, however, is because I have never even taken it out of the box...although it's ready to go whenever I want.
My last printer was a Epson dot matrix. I loved it. It ran for years without any problem whatsoever. It finally told me it was tired and went to printer heaven. Amen.
I haven't done any printing in a while, now.

Now don't laugh..........ah go ahead.......... lol
I had a little Bubble jet 200 that was a work horse.
The ink lasted forever (black only). Only quit using it when the buttons wore out, made me sick. Don't think they make them anymore, but it sure got the mileage while it lasted.
An absolutely ancient HP 5L. Nary an issue with it and I can still get the massive toner cartridge for it.
I had good luck with my HP 540 for many years.
One day, I went to buy a new ink cartridge for it and found an HP 2330 on sale for less than a new ink cartridge for my old 540, so I upgraded to the world of color even though my old 540 still worked.
The only problem I have ever had with my 2330 is that the black cartridge is a bit smaller (the two ink cartridges in my 2330 together are smaller than the cartrtidge in my old 540) so I have to replace it twice as often as I am use to, but aside from that it's been reliable and trouble-free for four years despite being shipped cross-country by someone who didn't know how to properly pack/pad stuff for shipping (thanks, mom!).
ALL HP models have never given me a lick of trouble and I have only had to replace them when I needed a newer model.
I have a Lexmark All in One, no problems so far.
Yes. A H.P. When I got a new one I gave the old one to my grandson. He is still using it with no problems.
A cheap Dell printer that I got free with my laptop.
Are there any scanner printers on the market that will allow you to save a scan directly on to a flash drive, without going thru a computer?

Oh wow... it really seems like the older a printer is, the better it is. They make them to break nowadays, it seems! Thanks.
