Those are two distinct questions. AFAIK, only the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hold marriages in a place where only other adherents can witness. And furthermore, only other LdS with a temple recommend may witness. As to which religions will split families, that opens a whole other can of worms. I know of a few sects which ask parents to disown children who are excommunicated or otherwise leave that sect. Two examples are the FLDS and the JW. I know of individual families who disowned children for being baptized into the LdS Church, but I believe they weren't following mandates from their sects.

The irony is that we’re *not* splitting families; we’re doing just the opposite. The point of a temple marriage is that, unlike other marriages, which are dissolved as soon as either spouse dies, marriages sealed in the temple can last *forever*. What’s more, parents can be sealed to children and children to parents, so the entire human family will eventually be linked in a gigantic chain, reaching from Father Adam down to the present day and beyond. I understand how it might look from the outside, but the temple isn’t about separating families; it’s about uniting them. It’s just an unfortunate side effect that those that aren’t yet ready, can’t be part of it until they are. See also http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7595627 . HTH!

Something worth thinking about is that the temple wedding ordinance is actually attended by very few people. The couple being married. The person performing the ceremony, and a few witnesses, usually drawn from family, but not including the entire extended family. . The social part of an LDS wedding is the reception, at which all are welcome, member and non-member alike. . This differs from weddings outside the church, where the wedding itself is them main event, and the reception is secondary.

A religion that does not have God at the center. A religion that is centered around man with control and manipulation. This would fall into the realm of CULTS. A religion like... the Mormon Church.

If a baptised J.W marries another baptised J.W., they can be married in a KINGDOM HALL...because they are being obedient to... (1 Corinthians 7:39) A wife is bound during all the time her husband is alive. But if her husband should fall asleep [in death], she is free to be married to whom she wants, only in [the] Lord. Marrying ONLY in ther Lord. However, there are NO restrictions on any friends or family...who are NOT J..W's , as to attending the ceremony IN THE KINGDOM HALL... Very much UNLIKE the Mormon practice.
