  • Actually the crying that results from the spanking is more likely to cause problems. I was spanked as a child with asthma and survived just fine. Depends on the severity of the asthma and the spanking.
  • Good question. I think I have to go with Elfie on this one. I think that you have to go lightly here but I don't think that a light spanking would hurt. My son had asthma and he got an occasional spanking and he's 50 now and turned out pretty good, in my opinion. You probably would have to look out for them trying to play you though. Kids are pretty good at that.
  • You bastard. I am an adult with asthma. I did not have asthma in childhood, but the idea of being spanked, or anything else punitive for asthma, strikes me as sadism in the extreme. For me, and I speak only for myself, it would probably be the one thing most likely to make the asthma worse. Like treating fear of swimming by holding them under ware until the nearly drown, or treating reading difficulties by hitting hard with a book. When you have an asthma attack, you lose control. Someone adding pain to loss of control will make the whole thing even more traumatic.
