Many advocates of democracy hope sincerely to spend their entire afterlife in an ideal dictatorship. How do you explain the logic of this?

nice question! because these people believe that a democracy is the best way to run a government when humans are running the show, probably because of what ely identifies as distrust, but when a truly benevolent dictator is assured of power, as their god would be, they are willing to hand power over. good question.

Maybe no logical answer can be found for this question. But belief in a subservient afterlife could explain why some earthly regimes attempt to copy what they imagine to be the rules of conduct of a heavenly autocracy.
