No- never a call for disresepct. If family has something to say about my partner they can say it without disrespect. If they start getting "catty" I shut them down.EVERYONE has issues. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect until they prove they dont accept it- then they deserve a respectful distance- without nasty comments.My goal would be to encourage understanding in all situations. Peeps are peeps and we all have been through stuff. We all have distasteful attributes- so it makes us equals.

No. I don't denegrate their partners they don't do it to mine. My father does not particularly like my wife, thye come from the opposite sides of the tracks, but I do not let him talk bad about her in any way. I let him disagree with her, but that's it.
