  • The Canon AE-1 camera had a light meter (moving needle type) and an electronically-controlled shutter. It used Canon type FD breech-lock lenses. It operated in either manual or shutter-priority (S) mode. In manual mode the light meter provided exposure information to the user; in shutter-priority mode, it controlled the aperture automatically.
