No, I don't think so. I doubt that a religious woman could maintain a lie that long, even to death. We had a simliar problem in Australia with the wife of an ADventist pastor whose baby was taken by a dingo. The press leapt upon the fact that she was religious and turned it all into a sacrificial killing...all lies..but the jury convicted her...later it was overturned, but the family was ruined...remember you only get the press's view of things...if the police had ever had mum as a suspect, she would have been arrested, but there was no proof even to take her in.

I think with the Ramsey case, the police where so convicted in finding the father guilty, all evidence that could have lead to the real killer was lost. The Lindy Chamberlain case here in Australia did the same thing. The police directed all their attention and evidence in the effort to convict an innocent person. Regarding the Ramsey’s the very sad thing is this little girl has never really been allowed to rest in peace, as to this day no person has been charged with the murder. Justice can sometimes go horribly wrong.

First, as a criminial investigator for 13 years, i have never known a kidnapper to leave a 2-3 page ransom note. it took an amount of time to sit down and write this ransom note, concerning Jon-Benet. a kidnapper is not going to take the chance of being discovered. every ransom note i have witnessed, contained only 5 lines, at the most. giving just basic information. Second, how did the kidnapper know the exact amount of money to demand as ransom? the amount demanded is the exact same amount as the christmas bonus, received that year, by Mr. Ramsey. most kidnappers ask for even amount money, like 100 thousand, 300 thousand, a million and so on. not in this case. this is what attracted my attention in the beginning. Third, i have never known a kidnapper to change the clothes of a victim, especially a child, after their death, unless they had left the kidnapping location. not so in the Jon-Benet case. she was murdered upstairs, her clothes changed and her body gently brought downstairs to the basement. she never left the Ramsey house. Fourth, a neighbor reported seeing a light moving about, inside the Ramsey home, the night of the murder. for a neighbor to make this observation, the lights had to be turned off in the Ramsey house. Mrs. Ramsey stated that they left a flashlight on the bar, in the kitchen, for emergencies. Fifth, was there forced entry into the Ramsey home, or was it made to appear there had been a forced entry? The Boulder Police Detectives apparently did not believe this theory, no concrete evidence to prove, thus the parents became the suspects in this homocide. Sixth, the ransom note pad, was discovered inside the Ramsey home. the same pad the ransom note had been written on. the kidnapper did not bring it with him, so the suspect wrote the 2-3 page ransome note on this pad and left it behind for the police to discover. It appeared to be the same hand writing as one of the parents of Jon-Benet. Theory conclusion: Lets ask the question, what if? Jon-Benet Ramsey was a child. her mother apparently was living her life again, through Jon-Benet. A very young child, sometimes forced to appear in shows, against her will. made to dress and appear as an adult. What if Mr. Ramsey was having a sexual encounter with his daughter? Mrs. Ramsey had suspected this for a while, but had never caught the encounter in its real act. was this the night it happened? the lights were out in the Ramsey home. Mrs. Ramsey, missed Mr. Ramsey from the bed. she investigates. the house is dark, so she uses the flashlight from downstairs. she makes her way up the house stairs, thus the neighbor observing the lights from inside the Ramesy home, from the outside. she walks into the room and discovers her suspcions to be true. in her anger, Mrs. Ramsey, with the flashlight, takes a swing at Mr. Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey dodges the flashlight and the flashlight strikes Jon-Benet, killing her. Both are terrified. blood is everywhere. Mrs. Ramsey changes Jon-Benet's clothes and cleans the room.only a mother would do this, not a kidnapper. a short time elapses as both attempt to regain their composure and develope an alibi, covering their child's death. only the Ramsey's knew the exact amount of Mr. Ramsey's christmas bonus. this is why she stated this amount of ransom, in the note, for Jon-Benet's safe return. Jon-Benet's body was gently carried from the upstairs bedroom to the basement. her hands were tied with a rope, the type normally made in another country, in which Mr. Ramsey had visited. a quick fake burglary entry was made to throw-off the police. finally, the police are notified. I do believe this was an in-house homocide. two many known facts tie the Ramseys into the death of their daughter. if their are no outside suspects, outside positive evidence, or outside motives, then there is no other place to investigate, but the inside of the house. The Boulder Police Dept. and its investigators are on target and have been since day one. But, the facts must prove guilt, without a reasonable doubt.

I think what was done to the Ramsey's after their daughters death was completely due to police bungling and media hype. I also think it eventually killed Patsy Ramsey. What a shame because whoever killed that little girl has never been caught.

I absolutely don't believe the Ramsey's murdered or accidentally killed their daughter. Boulder police brushed aside the thousands of leads that came in, and dismissed the possibility that an intruder had somehow slipped inside the house and committed the murder. Instead, they leaked information to the media -- sometimes fabricated information, charges of pornography and sexual abuse, all to put pressure on the Ramsey's. The Ramsey's passed independent polygraphs which police now accept. Concerning the ransom note, handwriting analysis shows that John Ramsey did not write the ransom note, Patsy Ramsey could not be completely eliminated as the writer. To say the handwriting matches is an incorrect statement. If you look at the physical evidence in this case, it's abundant. There are unidentified footwear impressions in the room where her body was found. There's a paintbrush that's missing. There's rope. There's tape. There's a number of things that point to an intruder. You've got an open window. You have a suitcase at the base of that window with glass on top of it. These are all obvious signs that an intruder entered this home. During the course of investigation some startling discoveries were made. Within a two-mile radius of where the Ramsey's once lived, 38 of their neighbors are registered sex offenders. What these private detectives have also discovered is that in the months before JonBenet's murder, there were more than 100 burglaries in her neighborhood. The crime lab has two spots of JonBenet's blood found on the underwear she was wearing the night of the murder. Mixed in with that blood is the DNA of an unknown person. It has taken years to isolate, but forensic scientists in Colorado now have a complete DNA profile of the killer. They know the killer is a male. What they don't know is his name. Also a small amount of matching DNA was found under the 6-year-old murder victim's fingernails. Boulder Sheriff's Department discovered a man by the name of Michael Helgoth, dead in his home, an apparent suicide. A man named John Kenady, who worked with Helgoth at an auto salvage yard outside of Boulder states that one day Helgoth casually walked up to him and said "I wonder what it'd be like to crack a human skull,'" Jonbenet received a crack in her skull. Just a few months before JonBenet's murder, Kenady says he noticed a change in Helgoth's attitude: "Mike was pretty happy around late November, about him and a partner making a killer deal, and they were each gonna make $50,000 or $60,000." Kenady didn't think anything of it, until he read in newspapers about the ransom note found at the Ramsey home that demanded a curious $118,000. It was close to the amount Helgoth had said he and his unknown partner would make. The ransom note was never paid. According to Kenady, Christmas comes and goes, and then Helgoth is really depressed. And there's no money. Kenady provided a very relevant piece of information that should have been a priority lead for the Boulder police department. Kenady says he called 10-20 times, but got no response and states that no one would call me back. Friends of Helgoth say that he owns several stun guns, that he was a gun nut and supposedly he used to break into people's houses just for the thrill of doing it. The stun gun is important because it's believed, from examining autopsy photos, that JonBenet was incapacitated with one at some point during her attack. At the Helgoth crime scene high-tech boots were later taken into possession but were originally ignored by investigators. The underside of Helgoth's boot on the left is the high tech impression that was made in the area where JonBenet's body was found. Investigators turned the boots over to the Boulder police, who claim their investigation showed they were the wrong size for a match. But they have yet to be turned over to the district attorney for further analysis. The private detectives in their investigation also uncovered a number of Helgoth's personal video tapes that they say the sheriff's office ignored. They found one piece of video that included coverage of an unsolved murder in Colorado. But what was even more disturbing were videotapes of Helgoth and one of his girlfriend's children. The ex-girlfriend and he had a major argument over supposedly her coming home and finding the daughter in the bedroom, and he was in bed under covers and she was on the covers. They had a big fight and there were temporary restraining orders issued. Most surprising of all, however, was the nature of Helgoth's suicide. Investigators initially said he died from a bullet to his head. But in fact, the fatal shot was nowhere near his head. The gun was found on Michael's right and he's right-handed. The bullet hole is on Michael's left and it goes across the body from left to right. The investigators were left with only one conclusion. Someone killed Helgoth. Why? Could there have been two people involved? Was Helgoth involved in JonBenet's murder and then killed by a partner for what he knew? In the Ramsey ransom note, there was the mention of "two gentleman who are watching over your daughter." If you look at the case real close, you'll see that quite possibly there was more than one person involved. But there is one thing investigators are sure of: Helgoth's DNA does not match the DNA profile sitting in the Denver crime lab. It could mean that if Helgoth was involved, he wasn't alone. And the person who sexually assaulted and killed JonBenet is still out there. It's now suspected JonBenet may have been targeted for murder possibly at a local dance studio called Dance West, where she took lessons. Another girl who took lessons there named "Amy," was attacked and sexually assaulted at night in her own bedroom on Sept. 14, 1997. Both JonBenet and Amy were sexually assaulted by an intruder at night in their homes within nine months of each other. Fiber evidence shows that JonBenet's attacker may have been wearing black, as was the man who attacked Amy. During Amy's investigation, cigarette butts were found outside Amy's house, and discovered to be the same brands found in the Ramseys' alley. The Ramsey's did not smoke. No, there is overwhelming evidence that points to the outside, rather than the inside. Whether or not Helgoth was one of two murderers remains to be seen. Because of excess leads that were not followed early in the case, much information may now be gone forever. Boulder police became fixated on the Ramsey's and were pathetically ignorant or just outright biased. [EDIT]========================================================= Another fact pointing away from the Ramsey's. The unknown DNA under JonBenets fingernails. The Ramsey's had no noticeable physical marks or scratches.

I thiink Mr. Ramsey did it.

After reading all the responses, I'm even more confused. One question I have about the Ramsey's accidently killing her is: How would you know what her condition is after accidently striking her with a flashlight? Would'nt your first instinct be to save your daughter? Call 911? get medical attention? I would expect her to be severely hurt and not near death and then begin covering up an accidental murder.
