Help answer this question below.
Get your boss to put his recommendation in writing (like in response to a written memo of some kind or a note from you), so you have some proof that he made that suggestion, which will let you off the hook.
If he won't do that, then call him on the phone and discuss it further with him, while tape-recording (and saving) the entire conversation. That will also supply the proof you need, that taking off those two days was at HIS suggestion. (Note the time/date of the telephone call.)

It sounds like your boss might be trying to do you a favor so you don't have to take it without pay. If you choose to do it, just don't go blabbing it around to everyone. If not, then still keep it quiet and just take the time off without pay.
This is very common practice. Don't sweat it. No biggie. I'm sure he is suggesting this in your best interest.
The parent company doesn't give a shit, and your boss will make your life miserable if you defy him. Let the sick days go.
At every job I've ever had I was required to use my sick days if I had something I needed to do. You could look into it, but he's probaby giving you the correct info
If all you have are sick days to get time off, follow your boss's advice.

You're reading My company's policy says sick days can only be taken when you're sick. I need 2 days off for another reason and my boss says I have to use my sick days for it. Should I follow my boss's advice? or report him for insisting on non-company policy?
