  • If you think that Germany is less influential politically or economically than Britain or France I suggest that you visit each of those countries. EDIT I see that you live in Germany, so I don't understand how you could ask this question.
  • Being that Germany is one of the largest economies in Europe & also the world I think its rather unfair to characterise it as 'extremely inferior'. I suspect, however, that as a consequence of Germanies rather unique history that any help or influence it can offer would be mostly political & economic rather than military.
  • Inferior? If it wasnt for the Netherlands and Germany your trade goods would not even reach the rest of Europe and Asia. They are not involved politically, although I think the Netherlands are always present any where any time. If we stopped distributing your goods, trust me you would notice. Do not blame them for not sticking their nose in someonelses business.
  • Since German's economy is significantly larger than either Britin's or France's, your question does not really make sense. Neither Britain nor France is a "superpower". The "above average" influence they have is due to two things: the fading legacy of WWII, which gave them their seats on the UN Security Council, and their willingness to send troops to fight, and if necessary die, in distant places. For historic reasons, Germany has particular difficulty in sending troops to do real fighting overseas. It is this, and not any political or economic inferiority, which stops Germany being as influential on the world stage as Britain and France.
  • Wow. You have to be one of the most un-read, ignorant people that have ever posted a question on this site. Get an education before you embarrass yourself further.
  • I think the big an real important international problems can only be solved by an Anglo-British cooperation. Little countries with a very low economic and miltary power would be only a block stop to the super-powers and should therefore strictly keep off from the actions of the two super-powers. Britain and America are playing on a political level on the international stage which is so far away from all other smaller countries, so that smaller countries would only disturb the two super-powers. As Europe is nor a nation, nor a political unity, but only a community of extremely different nations with extremely different politics, the european nations should stand strictly for their own and stop disturbing the Anglo-American cooperation. Small countries with little political importance better should keep off strictly from international affairs which are on a higher level. On the important stage of world-politics only super-powers can play a role but not tiny and small countries.
  • when did france become a super power?
  • According to the latest news Britain will send another 2.000 troops to Afghanistan and the US want to send over 20.000 new troops. This is a very good idea and I think both countries could send even much more troops down there because this will make our troops in Afghanistan completely unnecessary and we can them pull out even sooner as previewed. Countries like Italy or Germany should keep off in such a conflict with their very limited possibilities and let those do the job who think they can do better. In a week we have general elections an we will see how the new government will react. Afghanistan is a conflict which takes part in the Champions league and most European countries are playing only in the regional leagues. I think after all experiences this will be the last contribution of Germany in regard of any military adventures.
  • You are joking. Germany plays a very important role in Europe, and Europe is already a superpower, in a way. If the European integration further develops, Europe will one day be able to show a greater unity in its foreign policy, and the German influence on this will certainly be great.
  • Germany is not a small country, nor is it political and economical inferior. As soon as I saw the question, I knew it was you who asked it. You are a strange bird Frederik!
