With the new firmaware 1.5 released by sony for the PS3, its better for me to use the PS3 or the PS2 to play PS2 games on my HDTV? Will the image be better, because the PS2 image games suck in my HDTV even with a Component Video Cable!

My PS3 just got updated with firmware 1.60. Before the update, running HDMI cable and 1080i, there was a bunch of jaggies etc. After the update, it seemed it fixed the problem. I only just got the PS3 recently, and only tried one game prior to the update, so I can't really confirm this working for everything. I did notice the game's framerate didn't drop when it was played on the PS3 compared to where it used to drop on the PS2.

As for looking better on the PS2 or PS3, you'd have to run a comparison test after the update to see which system looks nicer. My old PS2 got traded in when the PS3 was purchased, so I don't have the option to try that out. Hope all works for you.

(Downside to running on PS3, no rumble. Upside, wireless)
