  • Alot of those deadbeat citizens are our own! I don't see too many immigrants bogging down our systems with extended stays on welfare....we need to clean up ourselves, before we clean up others.
  • Today there are 20000 H1B visas available and no one wants to fill them since there is a scarcity of jobs in US.The highly skilled and educated are afraid to come to USA because they do not have any guarantee that they can survive there. The focus has shifted to nations who have survived like Singapore,China,India and some European nations who have come out of the depression unscathed. The cost of living in these countries is very low but the same is not true in USA.This is the main reason for the problem.Ungainful expenditure should be stopped, cost cutting should be done, good fiscal policies to be in place, good leadership should take over, sops should not be given and some such changes will help the USA get out of this problem area.By throwing out "deadbeats" is not the solution since no one can do that...The poor and lowly have to be taken care by those who have hence they are there with you.Catherine please be compassionate with these people and they will resurrect a great USA tomorrow, I am sure about it.+
  • You've oversimplified the debate to the point where it can't be rationally discussed with you. 1. People come here to work. The illegals don't use the support system except when they absolutely have to because they risk being deported. 2. They are here because the situation in their country is so bad that they have no choice. Men often live 30 people to a house and send money back to their families. It's a miserable existence and they wouldn't do if they didn't have to. 3. Their countries don't want them back.
