Because they are big things at the time. It may seem like nothing down the road of life, but at the moment it may truly feel like the end of the world.
In most cases, it's not the size of the concern that's the issue, it's the closeness of that concern to someone's ego. When the ego feels challenged or threatened, even by a "small" thing, the tendency is to get an excess of reaction. It's evolution's little way of keeping the organism safe, which has been diverted by a slightly defective psychology.
What is big and what is little depends on a person's perspective.
Because they outnumber the big problems and eventually become big problems.
The ones who choose to are self pittying fools, that take little control over their own ability to extract the good out of things, by becoming dilligent experts at finding all the bad instead.
Can aggression be linked to social status? If so why?
