  • Yes I have been sued. I was in an accident and the person I wrecked with sued me. He ran a red light and I hit him. He got a friend of his to say he saw the accident and that it was me who ran the red light. But when the insurance company's attorney called to get the guy's statement he stared off by saying that a friend of his was in an accident. That pretty much squashed the chances of the case and it was dropped.
  • I was sued by a green card holder who was already on disability for the problem she claimed I caused. ** I rear ended her while driving 5 mph, cop on site, no ticket issued... she died on my b-day last year (happy dance), but her loser kids are continuing the case. My laywers laugh at their stupidity, especially since they hired one of the worst reputable lawyers in town.
  • Yeah, mine is similar. I had a car accident (my fault, I ran the stop sign) the woman tried to fake injuries that never existed. Luckily, I live in Canada and there are rules about lawsuits in car accidents. In order to sue successfully, the disability must be 1) permanent and 2) debilitating. If it's just a minor annoyance, you get nothing. Anyway, because she couldn't sue me (here it's the insurance company that gets sued) The insurance company had adjusters running around and getting stories from all sides and eventually THEY proved the claim was bogus because they would have had to pay out. I didn't have to do a thing but go to an interview, I barely knew it was happenning at all.
  • Right now I'm suing someone for stealling my phone then lying to the cops about it the phone was wrecked when I got it back.
  • Yes. i came around a corner of a freshly waxed floor. no caution signs had been posted, on the floor, and i slipped and broke my neck and left shoulder. I won the case. this occured in a Federal Courthouse. the security cameras helped my case.
  • Unfortunately yes. We were forced/evicted out of his apt. Our landlord was a cop and a busy body who was out only for himself. We moved into the top floor of one of the houses he owned and rented. We thought we found a nice apt. to live in and a responsible, upstanding landlord. He had my husband & I investigated (illegally) through his department before renting to us. Needless to say he keep coming into the apt., he saw I had a portable dishwasher and sent us a nicely worded letter saying that would cost us an additional $50.00 a month. He had to replace the 17 year old stove that finally died, so he had his mother be at the apt when the appliance guys brought the "newer" stove in. She made herself two meals from our refrigerator and watched our TV most of the day making herself very comfortable with our personnel stuff (They didn't see anything wrong with this.) The final problem was when after 11 years of marriage, my husband and I were finally blessed and I was pregnant. We never thought this would happen and we were very surprised. When we told him when I was almost 3 months along, we waited telling everyone other than family just in case of a miscarriage. He was really pissed off. He told us, he didn't want to rent to someone who had kids and he didn't like the fact we were expecting. As soon as our daughter was born he raised the rent from $695. to $1095. for the extra person. We decided we would not be staying and started looking for a new place. He wanted us out immediately if we didn't agree to his demands for $400 more. He got one of his buddies to post an eviction notice on the inside of the door of our apt. and took us to court (which he had to judge rush a hearing through before 30 days), we won and was able to stay 3 months until we found another place but he won by making us move over the baby. There was never anything in our lease against one. He had his teenage son slashed our tires on both our cars and we couldn't do a damn thing, since he was a cop. We moved and thanked our lucky stars we got out of there alive. He ended up getting what he deserved when he was suspend from the force for other wrong doings.
  • I've never been through either one - Thank God
  • Yep. I sued. Bad man drove his Hum V into my car at a high speed. I wanted to get a new car anyway. I called and got me a good laywer, and I got $$! I got me car, a house, and new bling bling!
  • My dad is a doctor, so he gets all sorts of BS malpractice lawsuits. The worst one was the woman who claimed that a drug my dad prescribed made her shake her hands every few minutes. My uncle is a lawyer and has been in cases before the supreme court. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_v._Randolph
  • No ive never been sued and i threaten to sue people ALL the time but i never do but its fun cause im weird
  • i sued the DEA. it went pathetically. for background: i was a passenger in a car that was hit by a DEA vehicle that was being driven by a DEA agent. i was injured. i didn't have insurance. the agent ADMITTED to the cop "i just didn't stop." after 2 years i recovered less than 20% of my medical expenses. in part i think it was because my lawyer was lazy and didn't want to fight for it but i know another side of it is that he decided to go after the government instead of the driver.
  • yea i am suing someone.I was hit by a car on my bicycle. I was crossing the road in a residental area and she was waving at her nieghbor and didnt see me. I had injuyies and lost my job and carrer. After one year of therapy i am able to go back to work but as soon as they ask about my accident i never hear from them again. This has affected my whole life.
  • Just small claims court and I won both times but have yet to see one red cent. So I had to pay the court costs and it was not worth it.
  • I sued a man who raped me. He was convicted of raping several woman. I won a civil suit but only recovered a fraction of the judgement. I was then sued by the bankruptcy court to return all monies because after I received my small sum he claimed bankruptcy on purpose. Once you claim bankruptcy any debtors paid previously up to 90 days can be ordered to return the monies.
