Why do people on AB who claim to be atheists spend so much time bashing God questions? Isn't that like telling everyone you know "My penis ISN'T tiny?" Methinks thou dost protesteth much.

We all have an opportunity -- perhaps even an obligation -- to help others 'wake up'. As long as that is discharged appropriately, it's potentially a public service. Of course, often it's not done appropriately, but a general "don't challenge God questions" rule is not really fitting. The world is too small now to simply allow ignorance to run rampant. It's also too small to permit vast waves of intolerance. Balancing those two, with an understanding that ultimately each individual has to develop in their own way, is the key for non-believers who want to help their believing comrades.
