Pretty much the same reason that girls are shy to ask out guys.

most likely the fear of rejection. Guys are very sensitive about rejection although they try not to show it.

Because women, are for the most part cold and mean when it comes to rejecting guys; add to that that most of them are shallow and wont give a guy the time of day to talk to them unless they look like brad pitt, makes for a fairly intimidating person. Women are intimidating because they are so pick and will often make a mean comment to the guy if he trys to ask her out and she's not interested. In short men can be shy to ask girls out because women are generally bitches.

I can't speak for all men, but I know that most of my guy friends are afraid of rejection. They are in awe of me when we go to the club, because I have no such fear. Girls want guys to come up to them, but most guys are just plain afraid to do so. Not thig guy though. :)

Fear of rejection.

Fear of rejection like other people have said and because we know women are continuously judging us by our actions. Another reason, for me anyway, is because I wouldn't know what to talk about once I do find a woman I'd like to talk to.
