  • Only 3... straight out for lefthand turn elbow bent 90 degrees with palm parallel with car for righthand turn arm extended downward with palm perpindicular to car for "stop". Wait...make that 4...Middle finger extended in Italian salutation.
  • All of them,when I learnt to drive we had to do them....the strangest one is if you wished to indicate to an oncoming driver that you intended,for instance ,to turn right you held your hand across the inside of the windscreen facing to the right....
  • In the old days, we had to learn them all for the driving test - and all the stopping distances etc. I must admit, it does annoy me when someone slows down and does not use the correct hand signal! So, i tend to use one which was not in the Highway code! Where are you, btw??
