Yes, of course it is. The people that have said no are simply out of touch. You can pen a story where an adult has sex with a minor but are you going to jail for it? Of course not. I think people are confused by the difference between "sex" and "cyber-sex", which is simply spinning a tale, albeit a very wrong one. Just because it's morally unbecoming, doesn't it make it illegal, in terms of law.

It is certainly morally wrong. The legality probably depends on specifics. I am uncomfortable with the idea of it being legal but I also have misgivings about the way in which it is prosecuted and more serious misgivings about how people are 'caught' in the first place. . Underage girls who are amenable to cybering older men are a rare breed indeed. Probably a lot more rare than FBI agents pretending to be underage girls who are amenable (if not surprisingly eager) to cybering older men. .
