  • Ask better questions. Give good answers.
  • Try changing your screen name first, then try to stop asking for points, answer more question, ask useful ones, then everyone will be happy.*:)*+++++*
  • There is no magic formula for gathering points. Most top point scorers are addicted to AB. You have to put in the time in order to be successful. You do get more points for good questions then you do for good answers. At least, that is how it works for me. You need to answer questions that you know something about. You need to be creative when you ask questions too. I will tell you that, if you are only here for the points, you are missing out on the real fun of AB. For me anyway, it is not so much about points. I enjoy the satisfaction I get from helping someone. Keep coming up with good questions, like this one and you will gain enjoyment. Also, stop worrying about points. You will get points. Good luck. +5
  • Post lots of questions and answers. Rate lots of people up.
  • I think you have to go to the biggest guns for that one. Time for sure, and also the ability to keep track of asking a lot of questions and having the ability to keep up with pointing everyone. No one is going to answer your questions if you ignore their answers. Try and keep a lot of questions out there often and also try to spend time answering lots of questions and making friends on here, which you already do. Oh, heck, ask Keithold!
  • I'd say the biggest "secret" is not to dwell on getting points. Having said that, then it's the usual. Ask good questions. Give good answers. Acknowledge people when they answer your questions or when they just add something worthwhile in general. Get to know people on comment threads so they look for and rate your submissions. You can also pick up a lot of points through responsible moderating. By "responsible" I mean flagging submissions that truly deserve flagging and not just anything in an attempt to get points. But always remember that ultimately the points are meaningless and never to take the site too seriously. Have fun and get the most out of it you can. That's all that really matters.
  • Lots of Q's and A's and time!
  • One way is to catch a question when it's "fresh" and answer as soon as possible. More people are looking at (and rating) answers that have been posted that day than on earlier days. But don't ignore any older questions that interest you, either! I haven't learned the secret to getting points on my questions - many of them fall into a black hole somewhere and are never acknowledged. But I keep trying!
  • i have fun and always + those who answer my questions, i + any questions i answer, and i + any answers or questions i like. i find if i give generously they are returned in kind. can i say wheeeeeeeeee +5
  • ask good intelligent non-offensive questions, answer the questions as best as possible, and be nice! also spending hours and hours of your life on here helps. =]
  • The questions that interest me, I always rate + (thanks to Violet, for showing me the light). I always + rate the answers, unless they're spam or offensive. I try to respond to all who answer my questions, but it's still a work in progress.
  • Ask simple questions the average person is able to answer and wants to answer. Ask hundreds of questions a week. Flagging 10 hours a day will get you in the top ten for the week guaranteed.
  • I'm still kinda new here so I'm guessing that asking questions that make sense to most would possibly get more points than making up phony questions. I personally do not like the phony questions about someone who is committing suicide and their relative is on the internet instead of getting help for the person who may be dying. To me those kind of question are an insult to the ones here who are intelligent. JMO - Just my opinion.
  • It helps a lot if you have an avatar like yours. If you have friends. See, nobody hardly likes me or anything.
  • It helps if you can build a cadre of question-answering friends. Answer/+rate their questions, and they'll likely do the same for you. I need to be more attentive to the questions my friends my ask, but they all take good care of me.
  • I think key to making points are making good questions, and give answers the question exactly what they are asking. the simpler questions may be good one to anyone give your questions to answer and rate your questions.
  • If you find the key to the secret - will you share it with me pleeeaaaaase?! +++
  • answerbag everyday most of the day.
  • We should be asking you :) you have plenty of them, heres 5 more :)
  • ask personal questions, maybe?
  • Visit here. Find questions that your experience, education, and hard-knocks have enabled you to answer. Answer them because you can. Points are not the point. Enjoyment is.
  • For some reason AB users seem to like simple, factual questions about other people's habits. I don't post questions like these, but they definitely work: what colour top are you wearing? what is in your handbag? how much small change do you have on you? what is your favorite pasta? - they stick around for ages, and are constantly recycled. The shorter & more neutral they are the better. Weird.
  • Stay here for a long time, be honest and kind and give good answers.
  • Just be sincere in your questions and answers. Forget about the points, they take care of themselves. +5
  • Good questions - from what I can see a really good question has the potential for 200, pts plus being a popular & upbeat aber helps too. Though some ABers have too many good questions for me to keep up! and my points for them would run out! - I tend to answer a few when I can - its hard! +5 n.b 200 points seems a lot to me at my level lol!
  • You got it now. To land on the front page when AB is having a glitch so your question keeps popping up instead of newer questions. Enjoy the points. You have been here for at least 16 hours now so they must be mounting up. Too bad this is a duplicate and you wont be able to keep them when someone flags this.
  • The more simple, inane and uninteresting a question is, the more points it will get as anyone and everyone can answer it. These questions destroy Answerbag's function and are just point scoring vehicles but there are enough fellow ABers up for it that it works. Why the points themselves should be the prime interest for anyone rather than the quality of the discourse, I can't imagine; it's ridiculously pathetic. AB has now started actually polling to find if people are finding real answers on here it's got so bad.
  • Staying on here much longer than you should -- that's the secret.
  • Just give honest answers and have fun, give funny comments when needed.
  • Ask questions Fluff ones do the best. Answer a lot of Fluffy stuff. Moderate carefully Kiss a lot of ass seems very popular these days, it certainly seems to earn a lot of points. Never answer a question that may be even slightly controversial, you could lose friends. Giving an honest opinion that goes against the flow is a definite NO NO. I just want You to know this is MHO but a lot of people will say I am being sarcastic ( I am but honest)
  • Well i clearly haven't ;-) - but to me it's neither here nor there (well wrong - it matters when i have e.g. 6points until the next level and that next level takes a week to arrive lol)
  • Be cheerful, up-lifting, funny, and polite. I lost a friend by being to truthful, and now they don't give me pionts at all...I remain truthful anyway.8) +5
  • 1 Ask good, thoughtful questions. 2 Make them short and direct. 3. Lay off the zany crap and DON'T COPY anothers question. 4. Post it ONLY once in ONE area. Don't go around posting the same question (Or modifi9ed) in other areas. 5. Religious ones don't get alot of traffic, stay mainstream, ask about recent topics and racially charged stuff. 6. Try "Does your GF like to receive teddy bears as gifts?" Or "Have you ever gotten a teddy ebar as a gift from BF/GF?" Oh and good luck.
  • Lube up your hands with your own points and jerk everyone off. After you do that, you are sure to have the same done to you.
  • Give good answers to questions, ask stimulating questions, flag blatant advertising as spam, flag duplicate questions (like this one) as duplicates and suggest more appropriate categories for questions that are obviously in the wrong category.
