It doesnt really matter one way or the other. This is not a program that is going to make people buy a car that werent thinking about making a purchase anyway. It is just speeding up their time horizon. Hence less cars will be bought in the upcoming quarters so net effect = zero. Well thats not entirely true, every american will add the costs of 4500 per car to their tax bill next year which in turn will make them spend less money which in turn will create another collapse of the market though not for at least a few more months. The governement is always good for preserving a few months of good times while sacrificing years... I guess if I was running a dope ring or crack house this would be a good thing because I would be dead or in jail before the rooster came home to roost. Unfortunately this is peoples lives. Good luck all

Of course. I wish I could take part in it though.

Not really. This bill is played as eco-friendly but the amount of energy it takes to melt down a "clunker" and make another car is way more than just filling up your "clunker". This bill is supposed to help the big 3 yet the top 10 most traded in cars are all American and only 4 of the top 10 cars most traded for cars are made by the big 3.
