NO WAY will I bag my own groceries!!!! I grew up in my Uncle's grocery store in the 1950's and was a bagger and stocked shelves, for many years, so I've had my fill of bagging groceries, thank you!!
-
I was the cashier at some point and it always annoyed me when I would scan an entire $300 order and the person just stands there and waits for me to bag, so I bag my own groceries unless there is a bagger there.
-
I would always pack my own groceries. I salads, fresh fruit etc (squashy things) in one bag and tins, bottles etc in another bag. That way everything arrives home in good condition.
-
I prefer to bag my own. I am the tetras champion in mour neighborhood. I prefer paper bags because they hold more groceries and are useful trash bins in my office.
-
I bag my own, anytime the cashier bags my groceries they always squash the bread. So I prefer to bag my own shopping.
-
Depends on the mood im in, but i do get upset when someone isn't there to do their job, and if they were doing it the right way no one should have to bag their own. So no and yes.
-
IF there is a bagger, then they can do their job as this usually occurs at the same time the cashier is ringing and I'd rather watch the 'ring'. Someplaces have no bagger in order to cut costs, so in that case, I bag.
-
I prefer to bag my own or have my husband do it.
-
I prefer to bag my own ... so I purposely try to go to the stores who let you do it yourself.
-
depends where I shop some places require us to bag our own groceries while other places do it for us
-
Ill bag them if there is no bagger (in fact I would rather bag them myself even if there was) They always do it wrong, I used to have to teach people how to bag the correct way and the efficient way..LMAO, so it drives me nutz when I get home and my hamburger meat is dripping on my jello.

There's usually a bagger at the store I go to but if they are very busy or my shopping is a lot, I help to bag my groceries.
-
I hate going to Albertsons because they bag my groceries. I like to bag my own groceries. I have a weird hang-up! +4
-
I bag my own, to do my cashier a favor. I have to admit that in a perfect world the cashier would say "thank you for bagging". I do feel that it is part of their job requirement, and if I'm doing them a favor by packing, it would be polite to say thanks, and encouraging for the next time.

98% of the time I let them do it. They usually just do it automatically. If the checker has no bagger I sometimes help. What is the purpose of asking for this information?
-
i bag my own in most cases i am picky about my food and i have spent hard earned money for them. i don't want my bread squished, my produce mixed with chemicals, and i like to keep my cold stuff together.

I usually Start first!

I usually do it. I haven't found a place so far where the baggers are faster and more efficient than me. Nothing pisses me off more than when they put what can fit in 6 bags into 20. Plus, when I buy cigars from the convenience store, they always put them in with something heavy and break them, glass-encased cigars included.
