  • My first suspicion is overheating. I had one that I installed the CPU heat sink wrong and it would shut down in a few seconds; not even long enough to boot and load Windows. Last time I went too long without cleaning the cat hair and lint out of the CPU heatsink it tripped the thermal alarm (something most motehrboards do *not* have), started beeping like crazy, and then shut down a minute later. To see if I am right, download a temperature monitor program like this ( http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ ) and see what it says just before shutdown.
