Why is it that a coke you get from a resturaunt tastes so much better than a coke from a can or bottle?

Cans and bottles of Coke lose some of their carbonation during tranport and sitting on a shelf for a period of time. Restaurant Cokes are truly fresh. the carbonated water and syrup are mixed together right then. this leaves no room for less carbonation. You might the big difference is in "delivery".
