  • It is moot, but, Trixiebell's owner is supposed to take precautions for his female during "that time of year". It is generally agreed in these parts that the female's owner is responsible. Male dog owners are not aware that they should leash their males or keep them indoors. Anyway, male dogs on a leash at this time have been known to break their necks trying to break loose.
  • It would be my contention, that if my female is in her own yard and a stray male comes into her yard/ breeds her: the male's owner is responsible. Your male should be home with you, in a fenced yard, kennel. If off the property and not on leash, you have a legal problem.
