Newly finding out that a penalty box exists on AB, do you think it is right or wrong to have one and why?

I think it's needed. There are rules here and there needs to be some kind of penalty, besides banning.

In some cases, it is needed. But sometimes I think its ridiculous. I just came out of the penalty box today. I was told that I harassed a user. Granted, I told her to get her head out of her a$$ and told her she was a troll because she was going around and DR'ing everyone and making all these judgemental statements. I was simply calling her out on her behavior. Note: This person's approver rating is under 50% meaning that she gives out more negative ratings than positive and using the veil of being Christian as her excuse.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, there are certain rules that you must follow. Each organization has a right to set forth the rules it believes are necessary. The Penalty Box is one of the things AB thinks is necessary. I think it's fine. I was PB'd once for 3 days. I don't think I deserved it because I was just defending myself from a stalker. But it doesn't matter what I think...if you are bugged by anyone on AB do/say nothing to that person..just report it immediately to AB staff and they will deal with the criminal! Happy Sunday! :)
