Are you talking about working for some sort of temp agency? If so, you should be paid from the moment you clock in and/or fill out a timesheet. You should really clarify all of this with your immediate supervisor at the actual worksite since they would ultimately be responsible for all the time that gets reported to the temp agency which is then paid to you.
