I was told it had to do with the singer from the 1930s through the 1950s called Kate Smith. She was famous for singing 'God Bless America"and was very large. Major sporting events such as major league baseball had her sing that at the end of the game of a big series. I could be totally wrong on this, but that is what someone told me. +3 *Edit: Someone else told me it has an Opera reference?
