  • Typically none. In most states its perfectly legal to purchase, possess and or otherwise have lights and siren on your vehicle provided that its not being used while operating the vehicle on a public street or highway. Depending on the style and structure of the lights, as long as the vehicle does not look as if its representative of any government agency or police/fire/rescue dept. etc.. you really have nothing to worry about. ALTHOUGH if you hit those lights and siren you will have a very hard time convincing a judge that it was "by accident".
  • Actually, in California at least, it is illegal to have any forward facing red lights on your vehicle or a siren. Regardless of whether you use them.
  • Its illegal in all states to have red lights visible from the front. this also includes blue lights in the state of tennessee. its not worth the hassle to leave the lights and siren on the vehicle.
