  • tell them they won't eat unless they do what you told them to do. or else, tell them that the amount of food they get is related to the amount of housework they do. food makes wonders with children!
  • ahhhh, the million dollar question. :-)
  • Beat them with a big stick! well I would if I had any!! :-/ Lol....
  • no use i dont like housework but i fetch things from the shops
  • my 2 nephews that i watch are weird. they dont like to play w toys. the love the vacuum cleaner the brooms and my god the lawn mower they are upset. i cut the grass twice a week w them its insane lol
  • you start as soon as they can walk, by asking them to throw away little pieces of trash and then as they get older teach them to help pick up their toys and put their clothes in the dirty clothes basket, help fold clean wash cloths, let them help set the table...you get the picture. start young and they will see helping around the house as part of being a family. and by the way, notice the world "help" here, they should not be doing the work while others are sitting around watching TV, that just makes them feel resentful.
  • Offer them a little extra allowance if they keep it up for a few wks!! lol
  • When my son started walking he was involved with housework. He loved the big fuzzy duster. I would be running around cleaning and he would be dusting the cat and a variety of other interesting things. As he became older I would pull up a chair next to the sink and he would wash the plastic items. I would let him blow bubbles into the sink when we all done. He use to ride the old vacuum cleaner my mom had. It became a game for us. Recently, he has learnt to wash his own laundry at the laundromat. Why? Because I will not wash them. If he wants clean clothes he will wash them himself. He actually prefers to do his own laundry because I let him pick out his very own detergent. He is very helpful. Sometimes he will do things without me asking and when he does I award him with a few dollars or a surprise of some kind. It HAS to start at a young age to work well.
