When I joined, the points system was relatively new. I think there were only a couple of Maestros. A few months after joining, the amount of points required to get to the next level increased. The best feature that was added, in my opinion, was the ability to add video and links to a question. The AB friend feature was a feature that was added shortly after I joined that has increased my enjoyment of AB.

I have had good and bad times here, but I have made a lot of good friends that I cherish:)

Well, most of the time, life on AB is swell. Then, there is the small percentage of the time where it really sucks, and people start to cross boundaries with you,and you get really pissed, like I've done, and did again today,so mabe I need to take another little break and get some slepp, because sometimes, people get on my last damn nerve.I don't like to be called weak, and I feel murderous sometimes when someone calls me weak, though I know when to calm myself, and please, don't get me wrong. This can be crazy instead of good.I'm sick of it.*+++++*(UPS AND DOWNS!)

About a month after I joined they added the ability to add friends. That was the last major development I remember.

Major changes observed In the race to gain points, the quality of the questions has deteriorated considerably. Also, many answers are no more than "Thanks +x", or "very true", etc. Even well thought out answers receive a similar cursory response, which can be a discoragement to serious ABers. The Feedback list often does not indicate many of the responses received, as a result of which coments and answers do get missed out and it's too late by the time their existence is realised. Questions are often placed in a totally irrelevant category. I've noticed AnswerBag now reallocates questions to the appropriate category, so there appears to be a "watchdog" monitoring somewhere. Major changes required One should be able to attach pictures to questions as well as comments -- a facility presently available only with answers. The Duplicate flag should be removed. It is often being misused to stop a question which might have been asked (albeit in different language) by someone else several months earlier, unbeknownst to the current asker. Shan, if you're in a position to influence the AB team to look into these points, I shall be grateful if will do so. Thanks.

I have only been on here less than 2 months, but it seems that the more you respond the more friends you make. So that is the biggest change, more people want to be my friend. I hope it is because of my great answers and not because of the points... + 5

I seem to be the last one to observe any changes... I didn't notice any. I just enjoy being here....
-
Eh, it's not them, it's me. My ability to be here ebbs and flow based on my work load and life happenings. I only hope you all want me as much as the people who are on much more frequently than I am.

When I joined in late 2006 points were relatively new and there were only a few Sages at the top level. Answerbag was much more of a Knowledge Database and not the Social Question site it is today, although we still had a lot of very nice people and friendships. Because there were so few people that could give full points people just did not make the high point levels they do today. Also Questions in general got very few points all the points went to Answers. There have been two new versions of Answerbag since then . Friends Lists were introduced. Demand Media took control People started to Moderate that was something that was not really done for points prior to February 2007. The First Maestro came into being, Drublic, he left the site almost immediately afterwards/ Congratulation Questions stopped being Nonsense questions. More Fluff content was allowed The site now goes for quantity over quality and it is more censored than previously. CLs were introduced. I am sure there are many more changes It is a very different place indeed.

I have just joined Answerbag 2 months ago. Nearly everything about AB is different from the other Q&A site I came from, so it is like learning a foreign language. I am enjoying the learning process :-)
