I would like to believe so yes. So far, since he died it seems that people are remembering him more for the good things he did and not the weird things.
-
As humans, we tend to remember the good and forget the bad. As a christian, I want to forgive him of his faults. I pray that God will bless his family, if not Michael's soul.
-
I think it is going to take a long while for the dust to settle. I also think he will be remembered for both fairly equally. The music will live on,though.
-
Considering his art consists of zombie-videos and gold glitter-encrusted codpieces, I have a feeling that the "weird" is going to stick as part of the territory. ^_^

He was a good performer, that's what he should be remember for. Not idolized though. And not put up on a pedestal or anything. Fact remains there was his private life that was in great question. Forget the weirdness, we're all weird in some way. It's the fact there is still a possibility he was a pedophile. No person should be placed on a pedestal or idolized, especially if this was the case, no matter how good a performer they were.

I think so because when it comes to memories humans tend to bury the not so pleasant ones and remember more the good ones. My life experiences allow me to make that statement. So many artists, great painters etc. were weird - and does the world still talk about it? Being weird seems to be one aspect of being a great artist of any kind.
-
Oh, I hope so.
-
Probably not, Probably not.
-
I will remember him as the child molester that he was.

In print, on the radio and on TV you will hear/see mostly all the good stuff. All the other won't be spoken of that much - except places like this. If he was just Mike Jackson, construction worker, he'd be in jail for what he did.
-
I've heard fans and celebrities already say 'Let's not focus on the negative'. At first, I'm sure he will be praised as a great performed and trail blazer. But after the dust settles and more weird news is released, he will be thought of as a freak again. In a way, Elvis fans are the same. They forget about his drug abuse and his bloated later years and they focus on the young image or the comeback performance.
-
I know I am getting down rated for this, but oh well. I don't think there is ANY THING that can make me think that Michael Jackson is in any way not completely weird.
-
I am certain that his biggest legacy will be his music, and not the way he lived his life. However, I don't think it will be forgotten that he was definitely a strange guy.
-
I certainly hope so. That is really the important part. Is it more important to Remember Don Giovanni and Piano sonata #15 or is it more important to remember that Mozart was a violent alcoholic who became dillusional and drank himself to death

People are willing to agree that Michael Jackson was a musical genius yet they still want to judge him based on "normal" standards. Genius of any type or shape are different from us. Yes they are special and most likely eccentric but that doesn't make them evil. I sincerely hope that he will be remembered for his talent. The eccentricities are interesting no doubt but they did not define who Michael Jackson was and until someone shows me proof that he was a pedophile or molested children, despite being found not guilty, I will appreciate his music and put the rest aside as vicious gossip from jealous people who insist on viewing the glass as half empty and not half full. RIP Michael. You gave the world a lot of joy with your music.

I think there will always be a mixture of memories of Michael Jackson. He definately had his "weirdness," but he was extremely talented. I grew up with the Jackson 5 and Michael. Depsite the negative, I will always have more fond and positive memories of Michael. The first time I ever saw him was on the Ed Sullivan Show.
