Yes, that is why I used a squirt bottle with vinegar water to teach them to stay the heck off.
It bothers my daughter more than it bothers me. I'm trying to break them of the habit and I'm cleaning surfaces where they walk before dining or cooking on them.
I am lucky my kitty doesnt get up there, but yes it does gross me out.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is gross and disgusting!!!! and should never be allowed!!!! eugh!!!!!
That may happen at other people's homes, but not at our house. Yes, I think it's a bad habit cats can get into and not disgusting but pretty gross.
That is why they are not allowed on tables or counters in my house.
Quite disgusting. Fortunately for me I have always trained my cats to stay off surfaces on which they're not welcome.
That is why i dont let them on the countertops.
I do however, let her drink from the faucet sometimes.
But i clean the counter after her and before cooking :)
Luckily I trained mine from an early age and they know not to go up on the work surfaces or tables.
Never thought of it before until now....but when I had inside cats they knew better than to get up on the counter tops.
Yes, it's utterly revolting, I don't even like their stinking food up there, never mind once they've crapped it out and had a good dig in it!
Unfortunately, my wife thinks it's perfectly ok, and feeds the filthy creatures on the kitchen surfaces, so now they're trained to jump up there.
Any suggestions for un-training them are welcome!

You're reading Do you not find it disgusting that cats use their litter tray and then walk all over the kitchen work tops and tables?

That's how I trained my cats too Blessed except mine was plain water. I have also used that technique to stop them getting their claws into my furniture! It certainly works - they hate to be sprayed :)

I've got a few that like water. They think its a game. But if you put vinegar in it, they hate the smell.
