Because the language used in some books is very complex and takes a high IQ to understand, and also the concept of some books and the meanings they convey are very hard to grasp unless you have a high reading age or IQ.

IMO for me it was 'Anna Karenina' by Leo Tolstoy. and also 'Long walk to freedom' by Nelson Mandela. They're slow paced.

One is "Finnegan's Wake" by James Joyce. I have included a copy of his book. You don't have to read the whole book.
