I think they already are. When was the last time you used a phone book for reference instead of a booster seat for a kid?

Yes, I would think so but I can't predict when this would happen.

If you could see the amount of phone books doled out every three months in this area you would shake your head in disgust. I get about 10 to 20 pounds of useless paper information in the form of phone books regularly. I bring them straight to the recycle bin and pray they actually do get recycled.

I think they will become obsolete within 10 years, if not sooner.

+5 I hope so. You can go online to all the phone companies and see the book on line. I do not want to save the phone company money but I do want to stop the trees being killed if we do not have too. So, yes, it looks like both the books and traditional phone service is going
