Saint Therese de Lisieux, known as the "Little Flower".

Therese of Lisieux 1896, selected to join a convent in Hanoi, Vietnam Canonized: 1925
Benedict the Moor (Negro missions) black slave born in Sicily 1526 Canonized: 1807
I think you mean "convent". Saint Térèse of Lisieux was dead when she was proclaimed the patron saint of missions, so her consent is a moot point. :)

St. Therese of Lisieux. She had gone on pilgrimages before joining the convent. Later, as a nun, she was invited several times to join a mission in French Indochina, but had to decline because of illness. She did correspond frequently with the missionaries.

St. Therese of Lisieux Born: 1873 AD, Died: 1897 AD This Carmelite nun was know as Little Flower. Author of Story of A Soul. Died at age 24.
I am only reporting this information...I cannot understand, though, how a convent-bound nun could be called patron of missions. I would have given something like that to St Clare, who sent out her nuns.
I'm pretty sure its Therese of Lisieux, but i'm not 100% sure. maybe like 95% sure....
