  • 1. No 2. Semantics
  • Theres a difference I read some where. Stoned is a rather cloudy confused state, where high is more of a euphoric state. From what I read differnt types of weed produce differnt effects. There are sites that sell seeds and will give a description of the effects of each type of plant. As far as the diff between a stoner and a pothead- cant say I see one.
  • If you're stoned you feel relaxed, slow, calm, things like that. Not really interested in doing anything. If you're high, you're happy, energetic depending on what you've done, trippy, sometimes paranoid, etc. More active. Stoners and potheads are different in substance. A pothead only smokes pot. Stoners often do other things.
  • There is no difference in being a stoner and a pothead. As for getting stoned and getting high, they are also the same thing if you're just talking about weed, however you could get high off other drugs too.
  • There is a difference in getting stoned and getting high, high-your goofy and laughing stoned-ever see that commercial about sitting on a couch for 12 hours....thats what getting stoned does for ya no difference in the other though...but there is a difference between pot smoker and stoner.....pot smokers don't do it as often
  • No difference
  • Words can mean different things depending on where you live and your culture. I will try to explain it for the three people who have never smoked weed: Stoned vs. High • Stoned - This usually refers to a body high or a "couch lock." Also known as "the greatest feeling in the world." Indica dominant strains usually produce a stoney feeling. • High - Cerebral or head high. This high is usually more creative, active and energetic. Sativa strains usually create this feeling. *This word can mean a lot of things. This might be more internationally accepted: Stoner vs. Pothead • Stoner - A friendly and often peaceful person who is part of the cannabis culture. A stoner cannot be classified by the quantity of cannabis they consume. They are the people that prefer weed instead of beer on the weekends. • Pothead - A person who habitually smokes cannabis. This is someone who misses their flight to Amsterdam ...because they got high. This person is still a much better person than an alcoholic.
  • getting high and getting stoned well i kinda gree with most of the people here. i agree with A Union NORML MPP GAT CBD CBN PRLAHNC pretty much entirely but to elaborate. a friend of mine is a pothead, he smokes everyday drinks everyday gets offended by everything. two of my other friends i'm in a band with are stoners. we are as said before a relaxed group, we smoke a lot and are generally just friendly and can get along with anyone as long as they arent stupid ya know? so i think there is a difference
  • I have been round the world, and it is very true that what gets sold around friends, students, and stoners in North America is typically homegrown shite, that does have a good to bad scale within its own sorts, but all of it just makes you more mellow and forgetful than anything really good that we can experience. The having had the chance to go to most of eastern europe, I have learned that there IS real weed. The sorts I mean have a very different look feel and high than anything just left to grow under light from some local seed. Don't get me wrong, these can be found Anywhere, but it just depends entirely on you to find them, and whether you meet the right people and have a sense of humor, or are gullable to get ripped off on prices. In my opinion real chronic weed can always be spotted by its gorgeous smell (not to get mixed up with good home fruity smell either, it's seriously true)
  • 1. YES! 2. NO FLYxNIGHT i believe is wrong in saying semantics for his second answer because he seems to think there is no difference between the two... where as to say the difference is semantics is to say the difference IS meaning. HIGH / STONED You will usually experience the high first - where you are enthusiastically enjoying something music / TV, are euphoric and energetic in a way - this is where you have huge fun. You can keep this going by smoking more but usually you will end up with the stoned feeling - just very relaxed, lethargic happy to lie there peaceful. To be honest I smoke for the high... I can relax easy enough as I'm usually tired anyway! I want the weed to make me euphoric / enthusiastic / enhancing enjoyment etc. Another important point is that the Satvia type is widely reputed to have more of the 'high' cerebral effect and the Indica type give more of the relaxed total body stoned. A lot of types of weed are bred with percentages of the two... possibly that's why we experience them both... possibly the stoned lasts longer and that's why you tend to experience it after. For example the super skunk breed has been said to be 25% Indica and 75% Satvia, while the Orange bud or Juicy fruit strain is bred from only Satvia I think. Of course these plants have all the complexity that nature has bestowed so there are many subtler differences in effect that are not as simple as high / stoned.
