Has anyone else found that on-line dating site are typically filled with men and women who are more into the chase than actually having a relationship? Do you think on-line dating sites cause more temptation to keep looking for something better?

I joined something for about two days, it was a find a friend/ dating site. I was there for friends..... yeah okay most ppl are idiots.... but there were guys in there just looking for fun, near damn desperate. Some were okay but mostly ignored i was there for friends, really made me want to avoid online dating sites. I'd rather meet some one who acts human and I have a better time of deciphering, online ppl seem too shady.

That is so true, my friend does the online dating thing and this guy that she met is always blowing hot and cold. I think that because there are so many options people just go to meet the person and hook up and move on. I'm sure that their are some people who go into online dating for the right reasons, but others just want to have fun and are not serious.

Some people, yes. But I wouldn't actually say the majority. You can say the same about a number of non-online methods. Such as going out to bars, using the group outing dating services. Some people are just in it for the chase. The few men I've met from online dating sites have been great. I have some great friends, and was in a 5 year relationship with someone I met online. I do not think it tempts you to keep looking for something better, again, anymore than any other method of dating. You only feel tempted to look for something better if you've settled for something you don't want out of desperation.
