It can be annoying, though I don't really care all that much because when I make avatars or icons, I tend to make them to share. However, yeah, if they take it and it was special, it can be quite irritating.

Very much so. Fortunately for me, all my homemade avatars are really freaky looking, and I geuss no one's quite daring enough to steal something when they have no idea what it's a picture of, because that's yet to happen to me.
