I just bought a new slim ps2. I'm playing final fantasy VIII for ps1 completely new and unopened. some cutscenes are very very slow or they flat out freeze. How do I fix it so it wont freeze during a cutscene?

Either your PS2 or FF8 disc are defective. To find out, play other games on your PS2 and see if you can get a friend to let you play the FF8 disc on their PS2. If they are both brand new, this should not be happening.

GAH! Mine does it too. With FF8. My PS1 ran it just fine, but the 2 does that. It's sooo frustarting. Do you know how many times I've had to save Balamb Garden from the missle stirke because the damn thing froze up and I had to turn it off before I could get to a save point. Good Luck ♥laura

I think it is the manufacturing of THAT GAME. I had five or six different copies of FFVIII, and every one of them froze, or lagged at some point...
