  • We have to make some judgements. How do you decide who to trust, who to do business with? Would you entrust your money to a wino on the street corner as readily as to a banker? Or as to your friend you have none for decades? Who would you trust to babysit your children, or just to be in charge of your shop for an hour or two? The question is not whether we have to make judgements, but when and where we should stop. Everybody agrees that others have the right to some privacy, and to some eccentricities of unconventional behaviours. The question is, how much? And there is no easy answer to that.

  • It's about appearing higher by standing on the heads of others. Judging other people allows them to feel better about themselves or look better by comparison("at least I'm not like ____").
