They were never mean, stern perhaps, but yes, it is tough love and there is a need for it. Spare the rod and spoil the child! Without some form of reward and punishment, people would never learn any discipline and who better to instill these values than your parents? The government is a POOR excuse for parenting, but it seems they have taken on this roll at an increasing pace over the last few decades.

My mum is constantly mean, degrading, abusive because she is a jealous, nasty person, although no-one sees through it except those really close to me..they just see the money, designer labels and are impressed..:0)
